If a picture is worth a thousand words,
we will let these photos below speak for themselves. What a time!
Thanks to everyone for participating in the inaugural
Billy Graham King of Hearts Tarabish Tournament.
We set the bar low in our expectations – raise a few bucks, no fisticuffs, have a few laughs,
tell a few lies, and remember Billy.
Through your support we raised $5403 to buy guitars and support budding artists at the MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning. Please note a portion their kind thank you:
‘Tis the morning after the day before ...and what a day it was!
I hope your hearts continue to be full with the wonderful energy
and good will that was generated in that small room in Dartmouth yesterday afternoon.
Speaking of good will – my/our thanks to you and the whole Graham clan
for believing in us enough to see it fit for the MacPhee Centre
to play a small roll in the day. Thank you. Thank you."
Defying all odds, the winning team was a married couple – David and Anne Marie Livingstone. Congratulations to David and Anne Marie! They prevailed over 40 other teams - beating out Jimmy Campbell and Lauchie MacDonald in the final. (Until then, it was the best the
Campbell’s and MacDonald’s had gotten along since Glencoe.)
People were carrying on all afternoon – as only Billy would have it.
To let us know he wasn’t far, Billy had the last word that evening by setting off an earthquake in his neighbourhood that night. He’s as subtle as ever.

We will definitely be doing this again next year! The King of Hearts Team is meeting Friday evening – to recap and have a few hands of ‘bish ourselves. Please share any advice you have about improving things for next year.
Many people made this day a success. You know who you are. Our gratitude is huge. Special mention has to go to Cindy Schultz (website and all things creative), Kate MacIntosh (KOH caricature), Mark Eisan (Tarabish game, cards, score pads, punch cards and posters), Mike Allen and Deb MacAskill (Nicest Trophy ever made) and Tracey Devereaux for passing up an afternoon of tarabish to referee and shout into the microphone.
